Experience the thrill of using Memory Palaces when learning about the 50 States! In this ongoing class, students will develop skills that can be used for a lifetime. Who knew memorizing could be so much fun?!

Course Description

✨Welcome to the weekly 50 States Memory Palace Challenge⎯where memorizing becomes an adventure! Memory Palace is a memory device that involves placing items in a "location", improving one's ability to commit to memory large amounts of information. This fun technique will be applied as we learn fascinating facts about the 50 states, according to the schedule found in the syllabus. Examples of facts that may be shared include: ✶ famous landmarks ✶ state motto ✶ famous people ✶ inventions ✶ plants and animals ✶ historical events ✶ fun facts ✶ and so forth ✏️Class will include basic writing, basic drawing, and brief discussions as students learn and share facts about the featured. Time will be allotted for students to draw a simple memory palace and place within it the information gained from the discussion. At the end of class, students will have an opportunity to present their unique memory palace to the class. This Show-and-Tell is always entertaining! The more one practices the Memory Palace memory device, the more proficient one gets. (This is a great life skill to have!) Your student may participate in this challenge as often as they would like. Simply register for the preferred weeks. Featured states will change on occasion. ✨Have a request for a state you would like to have featured?
