Let's tell the story of Jesus' birth in American Sign Language! We'll use the manual alphabet handshapes to sign about this special and miraculous birth!
In this class, students will learn to tell the story of Jesus' birth through an American Sign Language (ASL) ABC story. Students will learn to sign the ASL alphabet handshapes in sequence to tell the story of how the Messiah came into the world. This creative storytelling method allows language learners to play with the manual alphabet in a fun and meaningful way while building foundational skills in ASL communication and storytelling. Having some familiarity with the ASL alphabet is beneficial but not required for this class. Learning the alphabet in a storytelling format helps kids to better retain the alphabet handshapes they learn. Students will learn or review the ASL alphabet at the start of class before learning the Christmas story signs in relation the letter handshapes.
Students will need: - Hands - Well-lit environment without glare - Camera set up to capture from the top of the head to at least 5 inches above the waist - An excitement to learn!
