Learn how to make seven types of puppets, and use the puppets to put on a puppet show.
In this four-week, project-based class, we will learn how to make the following seven types of puppets: 1. Tagboard 2. Paper Bag 3. Sock 4. Hand 5. Popsicle Stick 6. Marionette 7. Finger On the final day, students will have the opportunity to use all their puppets to present a short puppet show for the rest of the class. Skills used in this class include: ✔︎ fine motor skills (cutting, pasting, sewing, coloring) ✔︎ creativity and imagination (puppet creation) ✔︎ communication skills (puppet show presentation) By the end of class, students' creativity and imagination will be soaring!
CLASS ONE - Tagboard Puppet - Paper Bag Puppet CLASS TWO - Sock Puppet - Hand Puppet CLASS THREE - Popsicle Stick Puppet - Marionette Puppet (NOTE: May require parental assistance.) CLASS FOUR - Finger Puppet - Puppet Show
WEEK ONE • one sheet tagboard or poster board • one brown paper lunch bag • scissors • glue sticks • scrap paper • crayons or markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc. WEEK TWO • one sheet white cardstock or computer paper • one or two white socks (large enough to fit a hand) • scissors • craft glue • glue stick • scrap paper • crayons • markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc. WEEK THREE • Ten 1/2"-1" pom poms • three popsicle sticks • 12" sewing thread (threaded through needle with knot tied at the end) • sewing needle • two 8" pieces of string • scissors • craft glue • glue stick • scrap paper • crayons or markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc. WEEK FOUR • one sheet construction paper (any color) • scrap colored paper • glue stick • scissors • crayons or markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc.
