Learn how to make four types of puppets, and use the puppets to put on a puppet show.
In this four-week project-based class, we will learn how to make the following four types of puppets: 1. Tagboard 2. Sock 3. Marionette 4. Hand On the final day, students will have the opportunity to use all their puppets to present a short puppet show for the rest of the class. Skills used in this class include: ✔︎ fine motor skills (cutting, pasting, sewing, coloring) ✔︎ creativity and imagination (puppet creation) ✔︎ communication skills (puppet show presentation) By the end of class, students' creativity and imagination will be soaring!
CLASS ONE - Tagboard Puppet CLASS TWO - Sock Puppet CLASS THREE - Marionette Puppet CLASS FOUR - Hand Puppet - Puppet Show
WEEK ONE • one sheet tagboard or poster board • scissors • glue sticks • scrap paper • crayons or markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc. WEEK TWO • one or two white socks (large enough to fit a hand) • scissors • craft glue • glue stick • scrap paper • crayons • markers • miscellaneous items like googly eyes, yarn, buttons, etc. WEEK THREE • Ten 1/2"-1" pom poms • 12" sewing thread (threaded through needle with knot tied at the end) • sewing needle • two 8" pieces of string • glue • scissors • two google eyes or 3 small circles cut from paper WEEK FOUR • one sheet construction paper (any color) • scrap colored paper • glue • scissors • crayons or markers • two large google eyes or 3 large circles cut from paper
