Create art using artist-approved reference work from modern artists. You will also hear artistic wisdom and inspiration shared by the artists just for this course.
Be inspired by modern artists in this Modern Artists Art Project Club. Classes feature different artists and a variety of art forms and subjects, such as: ✨ Nature ✨ Food ✨ Animals ✨ Still Life ✨ Landscapes ✨ Tablescapes ✨ Floral arrangements ✨ Toys, books, sports, tools, and other household items Participants will observe modern artist-approved reference photos as inspiration for their own creations. We will discuss the importance of avoiding copyright violations as we create our own unique piece of art. Art medium options include: ✨ Acrylic paint ✨ Paper collage ✨ Oil pastels ✨ Colored pencils ✨ Gouache paint Basic instruction for art projects will be shared and may include the following: ✔︎ composition ✔︎ lighting and shadows ✔︎ chalk sketch shapes ✔︎ complementary colors ✔︎ highlights ✔︎ paint direction ✔︎ layers Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their favorite art techniques with fellow students. Recommended art mediums for these projects include acrylic paint, oil pastels, colored pencils, and paper piecing for the collage projects. Unless otherwise noted, participants may use their art medium of choice for the projects. As a fun bonus, the modern artists have shared artistic wisdom and inspiration just specifically for the participants in this course. Prepare to be inspired in your artistic efforts! If desired, participants may share their finished artwork at the end of class. You have the option to take one or more classes in this Open-Series Course. ◻️ Sheet of mixed-media paper or canvas (8 x 11" or preferred size) 🎨 Medium of choice: Acrylic paint, oil pastel, colored pencils, gouache paint ⚪️ Light-colored chalk COLLAGE PROJECTS: Supplies include: Sheet of mixed-media paper; a variety of patterned scrapbook paper, white and colored construction paper, colored pencils, glue sticks, pencil, scissors STILL LIFE PROJECTS: Supplies needed, in addition to the paper, medium, and chalk mentioned above, will include various household items that you have around the house, such as dishes, pots and pans, tools, toys, books, live flowers, vases and unique containers to hold flowers, stuffed animals, fruit and vegetables, etc. A more detailed supply list will be sent to you when you register for specific classes.
