A weekly space to create and make new friends. Work on a current handicraft project, be inspired by new handicraft ideas, and visit with fellow creators.

Course Description

Handicrafts are making a comeback! This weekly Handicraft Hangout creative space for boys and girls offers time to work on current (or new) projects in a group setting where children can both inspire others and be inspired by others. Each session will include: ★ Introductions of children and the handiwork they are working on ★ Brief description of a handicraft that children many be interested in doing in the future ★ Time to work on projects while visiting with other participants ★ Show and Tell for children who would like to show the progress they made in class Handicrafts offer many benefits, including the opportunity for children to: ✨ create ✨ slow down ✨ work with their hands ✨ develop new skills Handicraft projects might include, but are not limited to: ● Amigurumi ● Applique ● Book-binding ● Braided friendship bracelets ● Clay modeling ● Crochet ● Cross-stitch ● Embroidery ● Finger knitting ● Hand sewing ● Jewelry-making ● Knitting ● Knot-tying ● Leather craft ● Macrame ● Origami ● Papier Mache ● Punch needle ● Soap-carving ● Weaving ● Wood-carving NOTE: Instructions on how to do handicrafts will not be offered in this class. Children should come to class knowing how to work on their project. We hope that you'll join us in this creative space!
