A weekly space to create and make new friends. Work on a current handicraft project, be inspired by new handicraft ideas, and visit with fellow creators.
Handicrafts are making a comeback! This weekly Handicraft Hangout creative space for boys and girls offers time to work on current (or new) projects in a group setting where children can both inspire others and be inspired by others. Each session will include: ★ Introductions of children and the handiwork they are working on ★ Brief description of a handicraft that children many be interested in doing in the future ★ Time to work on projects while visiting with other participants ★ Show and Tell for children who would like to show the progress they made in class Handicrafts offer many benefits, including the opportunity for children to: ✨ create ✨ slow down ✨ work with their hands ✨ develop new skills Handicraft projects might include, but are not limited to: ● Amigurumi ● Applique ● Book-binding ● Braided friendship bracelets ● Clay modeling ● Crochet ● Cross-stitch ● Embroidery ● Finger knitting ● Hand sewing ● Jewelry-making ● Knitting ● Knot-tying ● Leather craft ● Macrame ● Origami ● Papier Mache ● Punch needle ● Soap-carving ● Weaving ● Wood-carving NOTE: Instructions on how to do handicrafts will not be offered in this class.
