Course Description

Step away from technology and enter the creative world of Gelli Plates. In this two-part class we will learn how to make designs on paper using a Gelli Plate. We will then use our designed paper to create our own unique collage art projects. See Supplies list for needed class materials. This creative hobby can provide hours of handmade fun long after class ends. Students can use their designs for: ✔︎ gifts ✔︎ home decor ✔︎ personal art portfolios ✔︎ and more... The first class will include instruction on how to use a Gelli Plate and time for students to create their own designs on paper. The second class will be spent creating our own unique collage artwork using the designed paper made in the first class. Students may use the bird pattern included with class or create their own collage designs. If desired, students may showcase their finished projects at the end of class.

Supplies

CLASS ONE SUPPLIES ● 8 x 10-inch Gelli Plate (The one I own may be purchased here: https://amzn.to/46WEK7v ) ● Rubber Brayer (The one I own may be purchased here: https://amzn.to/4oHo4qZ ) ● Acrylic paint in a variety of colors (Use your own paint, or purchase paint: https://amzn.to/4mgcHVn ) ● Twelve sheets of 8.5 x 11-inch printer paper ● Plastic stencils (Use pre-owned stencils, or purchase new: https://amzn.to/3Jf4nXv ) ● Miscellaneous household items that can create patterns on paint: lace, bottle caps, rubber stamps, bubble wrap, yarn, comb, etc.) ● Paper towels and water to clean the Gelli Plate between uses CLASS TWO SUPPLIES ● Handmade paper from last week's class ● Three sheets of white cardstock or mixed-media paper ● Gluesticks ● Scissors ● A copy of the bird pattern (Optional) ** Found in the Session Notes after registration.
