Join us in the Friendship Club where we'll practice finding friends and being a friend. Show and Tell is a fun way to practice social skills, build confidence, and make new friends.
The Friendship club is a two-session course that gives pre-teens and teens an opportunity to interact with friends their age, improve their social skills, and build confidence. This course will include the following activities: • Social skills that will be introduced include: ✔︎ Basic body language (smiling, paying attention) ✔︎ Friendly greeting (eye contact, saying hello) ✔︎ Speaking clearly (volume, articulation) ✔︎ Asking and answering questions (both basic and more in-depth questions) • Show and Tell will provide pre-teens and teens with the opportunity to both share about themselves and learn about others. Participates may share a favorite item, book, project, pet, hobby, art or craft, gift, vacation souvenirs, etc. • Questions and conversation will be encouraged. (Optional) If desired, participants ages 7-15 can take The Art of Friendship class to learn basic friendship skill prior to joining the Friendship Club.
Participants are encouraged to avoid sensitive topics when sharing items for Show and Tell.
