Course Summary

Learn Greek roots, definitions, and English word derivatives by drawing pictures that connect in some way with the words. This fun class will have students drawing ridiculous pictures for the purpose of growing their Greek vocabulary.

Course Description

This Open-Series class will call on the creative side of students to use their imaginations. We will draw ridiculous pictures that will help students recall Greek root words, and vocabulary words for years to come. Each month we will learn a different set of words. Students may join as many classes as they'd like to help increase their vocabulary. ✨ Examples of Greek roots that may be used in class include: • acr- • byss- • cardi- • hyph- • jub- ✨ In each class: • Greek roots will be introduced • the definition of each root will be read • students will write the root, a short definition, and a few English word derivatives in their notebook • together we will think of derivative words that will make the new Greek root easier to recollect • students will draw a simple picture in their notebook that reminds them of the root and its definition ✔︎ At the end of each class, students will have the opportunity to share their pictures. We will learn as many Greek roots as time permits. Six classes in this series offer six different groups of Greek roots. Enroll in as many classes as you'd like! The classes do not need to be taken in order. This class is so much fun, students may forget that they're actually learning. ✏️ Skills needed for this class include basic writing and drawing skills.
