Course Description

Whether celebrating Christmas in December or Christmas in July, this series of classes will introduce students to the traditions and customs of the Christmas holiday in other countries. 🔔 In this Christmas Around The World (Part One) course, we will: - explore the traditions and customs of each country in a visual presentation (activities, food, clothing, beliefs, decorations, celebrations) - listen to traditional Christmas songs and sing-along to the songs we know - arts and craft project - show-and-tell By the end of each class, your child will have a basic understanding of how Christmas is celebrated in another country. Consider including some of these new traditions in your family celebrations this Christmas season! ★ Complete Christmas Around The World Open-Series: Part One: Australia, China, Mexico, and South Africa Part Two: England, Finland, Germany, Switzerland Part Three: Austria, Philippines, Greece, Sweden 🎄Christmas Celebration: Keep your favorite Christmas information and projects in mind, then register for the Christmas Celebration in December and July where you can join with others to share your favorite Christmas traditions from around the world, make a Christmas project, and enjoy festive snacks.

AUSTRALIA Supplies: • white paper plate • yellow or white paper for star (construction or cardstock) • markers or crayons • gems • glue • extra large craft stick • scissors CHINA Supplies: • one sheet red cardstock or construction paper • two sheets white cardstock or construction paper • scissors • markers or crayons • glue stick • pencil with eraser MEXICO Supplies: • two craft sticks • yarn in a variety of colors • scissors • tape SOUTH AFRICA Supplies: • toilet paper roll • tissue paper or wrapping paper • snap strips (optional) • string or ribbon • glue or double-sided tape • something to put in the Christmas Cracker (joke, quote, tiny gift, confetti)
