Course Description

Whether celebrating Christmas in December or Christmas in July, this series of classes will introduce students to the traditions and customs of the Christmas holiday in other countries. 🔔 In this Christmas Around The World (Part One) course, we will: - explore the traditions and customs of each country in a visual presentation (activities, food, clothing, beliefs, decorations, celebrations) - listen to traditional Christmas songs and sing-along to the songs we know - arts and craft project - show-and-tell By the end of each class, your child will have a basic understanding of how Christmas is celebrated in another country. AUSTRALIA Supplies: • white paper plate • yellow or white paper for star (construction or cardstock) • markers or crayons • gems • glue • extra large craft stick • scissors CHINA Supplies: • one sheet red cardstock or construction paper • two sheets white cardstock or construction paper • scissors • markers or crayons • glue stick • pencil with eraser MEXICO Supplies: • two craft sticks • yarn in a variety of colors • scissors • tape SOUTH AFRICA Supplies: • toilet paper roll • tissue paper or wrapping paper • snap strips (optional) • string or ribbon • glue or double-sided tape • something to put in the Christmas Cracker (joke, quote, tiny gift, confetti)
