Celebrate Christmas around the world by learning the traditions and customs of Austria, Philippines, Greece, and Sweden, and making a Christmas-themed project for each country.
Whether celebrating Christmas in December or Christmas in July, this four-part course will introduce students to the traditions and customs of the Christmas holiday in other countries. 🔔 In this Christmas Around The World (Part Three) course, we will: -explore the traditions and customs of each country in a visual presentation (activities, food, clothing, beliefs, decorations, celebrations) - listen to traditional Christmas songs and sing-along to the songs we know - arts and craft project - show-and-tell By the end of class, your child will have a basic understanding of how Christmas is celebrated in another country. AUSTRIA Supplies: • one sheet white cardstock, • scrap paper in a variety of colors • scissors • glue sticks • markers or gel pens • pencil and eraser PHILIPPINES Supplies: • thick white vellum paper (8.5" x 11" or larger) (available on Amazon or local craft store) • scissors • craft glue, glitter • gift wrap ribbon • hole punch • one copy of star pattern found in Session Resource section GREECE Supplies: • one sheet regular-sized computer paper • one sheet white cardstock, • scrap paper in a variety of colors • scissors • glue sticks • markers or gel pens • pencil and eraser • craft glue • miscellaneous craft items (gemstones, sequins, felt, string, etc.) SWEDEN Supplies: • 3-inch white pom pom • ½-inch wooden ball or paper circle • 1 sheet red felt, scissors • craft glue • one copy of pattern included in Session Resources
