Come learn more about bees and character traits! This mini-unit includes art, music, math, history, science, and character study.

Course Description

"Bee" of Good Character is a one-time, 45-minute long, Christian-based science and character-building class for young learners. Using hands-on activities and brief group discussions, students will: • Learn more about bees and beehives • Engage in music and art activities • Discuss six character traits that can be applied to both bees and students: grateful, prayerful, wise, humble, still, and involved • Upon completion of our projects, we will have Show and Tell By the end of class, students will not only feel a deeper appreciation for bees, but will have a better understanding of six character traits that they can continue to develop throughout their life. This class is perfect for those who love to engage in creative projects!

Syllabus

1. Observe bee anatomy 2. Learn how to draw a bee 3. Hexagon math activity 4. Brief composer introduction: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov 5. Listen to the song Flight of the Bumblebee 6. Character Study 7. Create a piece of art that includes bee, honey, and nature-themed images, and the scripture verse Proverbs 24:13-14. If students are not comfortable with writing, they may simply draw pictures. 8. Show and Tell
