Course Summary

This course introduces students to the foundational skills of drawing in three dimensions using lines, shapes, value, and perspective. Students will practice techniques that create depth and realism in their artwork.

Course Description

No prior skills needed! This class provides a hands-on introduction to the essential principles of drawing 3 dimensionally, including perspective, shading, proportion, and form. Students will explore how we use light and shadow to create depth to make flat images appear realistic. With the practice of certain techniques we will learn together how to increase your skills and confidence in drawing. Beyond technique, the course encourages creativity and observation, helping students learn how to “see like an artist.” By breaking down complex forms into simple shapes and applying perspective concepts. Students will develop a practical drawing toolkit they can apply to expand their creativity.
