Course Description

Unit studies are such a fun way to learn! Why? Because they include many different subjects and can involve the entire family. This Epic Family Adventure includes two parts: 🌎 Part One: Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, Kenya, Germany, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Australia 🌎 Part Two : Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, Antarctica, South Africa, Nigeria, Israel, Greece, Italy, France 🌎 Part Three: Russia, India, Canada, United States, Thailand, New Zealand, Ireland, England, Ghana, South Korea One 55-minute class will be held once a week. Feel free to take one, two, or all three courses, in any order. --- This is a family class. Cost information is as follows:: 1) One person in the family must purchase this class. 2) Additional participating family members (ages 4-18) must each purchase the add-on class: 3) Parents may participate in the class for free. --- Each class will include: - Weekly Showcase of family activities - Fascinating Facts Presentation - Hands-On Class Project - Show and Tell FASCINATING FACTS A visual presentation will be presented in weekly classes to introduce students to the culture of each country. WEEKLY FAMILY ACTIVITIES AND CLASS SHOWCASE Each class will include a hands-on project or activity. To get the most out of this course, doing additional country-related activities throughout the week is encouraged. This might include a science experiment, making a recipe, creating an art project, learning vocabulary words in a new language, performing a dance or song, writing a poem or story, reading cultural books, taking a family field trip, etc. Additional activity ideas will be provided in class. At the beginning of each class, families will have the opportunity to showcase the activities they did the prior week. β˜… One of the beautiful things about this course is the opportunity to associate with other like-minded families, learn from and inspire one another, and make new friends. NOTE: This is not an all-inclusive geography course. We will cover some basics of each country in class. As families immerse themselves in weekly activities, it is my hope that it will ignite in each child a love for learning and a love for geography and culture. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ This course will be what each family makes of it.
