Learn about Aesop's fable, The Tortoise and the Hare, while creating a craft to go along with the story. This character-building class is perfect for those who love to hear and share stories!

Course Description

A hands-on Tortoise and the Hare craft project helps bring to life one of Aesop's most well-loved fables. The coloring, basic cutting, and gluing entailed in this project can to help strengthen fine motor skills. Learners will use their imaginations as they bring to life the fable in their minds. They will then apply the fable to their lives by briefly discussing how the moral of the story "slow and steady wins the race" applies to them. Show-and-Tell at the end of class will give each learner the opportunity to share their finished project with fellow classmates. Who knew that character-building could be so much fun?! Syllabus

• Begin cutting animal images from paper • Listen to The Tortoise and the Hare fable • Briefly discuss the moral of the story and how we can apply it to our lives • Finish tortoise and hare stick puppet craft • Show and Tell
