Join us for story time and a craft project that build character as we learn about Aesop's Fable, The Lion and the Mouse. This class is perfect for those who love animals!
A hands-on Lion and Mouse craft project helps bring to life one of Aesop's most well-loved fables, The Lion and the Mouse. The coloring, basic cutting, and gluing entailed in this project can to help strengthen fine motor skills. Learners will use their imaginations as they bring to life the fable in their minds. They will then apply the fable to their lives by briefly discussing how the moral of the story "a kindness is never wasted" applies to them. We will also observe Thomas Bewick’s wood engraving of the lion and the mouse. Show-and-Tell at the end of class will give each learner the opportunity to share their finished project with fellow classmates. Who knew that character-building could be so much fun?! NOTE: This class is part of a series of classes centered around Aesop's fables. Be sure to check out the other Aesop's Fable classes in this series!
